You may also want to see if you can get involved in your school's theater productions, and see if you can do hair and makeup for them. It's worth asking about. Likewise, you can see if any local community theaters near you could take you on as a helper in that sort of thing. It'd be fun, and it'd start building your skills in that area. Lastly, see if you can't get a job of some sort in a local beauty shop. You won't be doing hair, but you will gain exposure to the environment and the business, and it'll give you a reference, and it'll look good on a resume.
