Posted by: admin  :  Category: fine art schools

When you need your windows cleaned, a lot of times people just pick up the phonebook or look online to find a company.

And unfortunately, most people just choose whoever they see first.  Well I would like to offer some advice on how to choose a good window cleaning company.  This is going to be advice coming from my years of experience as a San Diego Window cleaning company.

Now you may be thinking, what’s the big deal when hiring a window washing company.  Well for starters, there are a lot of companies out there who will just hire anybody to clean windows for them.  They do this without a background check.Well I hope you realize, these same people will have access to your home. With that being the case, would you not want to ensure that the company you are dealing with is reputable.  It could mean the difference between not just a good cleaning job, but it could also mean the difference in items being lost or stolen from your home.

So what can you do to screen out a good company?Well to start, you check to see if the employees are professional, clean, and uniformed. If they are not, this very well may be a sign that the company goes through employees every week without much regards to screening.

Second thing you want to do is to check and make sure the company is bonded and insured.  Accidents can happen, and if they do, you want to be protected as much as possible.

Third, do they use professional tools. This does help you in seeing if the company is professional in their work and if it is quality work.

Fourth, you are going to want to check to see how long their business has been around.Like most things, longevity says a lot and shows you that you are dealing with a very reputable company.

Lastly, you want to get any past references of past customers.Nothing is better validation on how good their work is than a company’s previous customers. This is going to allow you to know how well they have done in their past performances.

There you have it.  Some quick tips you can use to find the best window cleaning company around.

Window Cleaning Secrets

Posted by: admin  :  Category: fine art schools

Initially, window washing seems pretty easy. You can ask any young kid to clean your windows, for pay, and watch them jump at the chance. But the big problem you’ll find, is once they do it, they will probably tell you they won’t ever do that again. The problem with window cleaning however is not in the actual work involved, it’s in how you do it, when you do it, and what tools you use.  Take it from my years as a San Diego Window cleaning company, if you want someone to enjoy cleaning your windows, or if you want to do it yourself, keep some of these tips below in mind.

If your washing your windows in direct sunlight, you will start to realize that this will cause unsightly streaks that never seem to go away no matter how much you clean them! It’s frustrating, but knowing a simple tip like washing them when the sun passes away from the windows, or is not so hot, can save you from failure and frustration as well.

Some San Diego window washing tips that take the frustration and hassle out of window cleaning are:

The way you hold the squeegee matters!

Make sure when you hold the squeegee, you have it angled in the direction the water is flowing. If the water is flowing down towards your feet, pull the squeegee either sideways allowing the water being squeegeed to flow down to the part you haven’t hit yet. If you find yourself on a rooftop for example and you find the down angle above your head, make sure to squeegee forward so you cause the water to flow to the part untouched. Now going against the flow, water can build up and that will cause the water to come out the sides of the squeegee and this causes streaks.

The wiping of the blade is important!

Some people try to squeegee the whole window one stroke at a time without wiping the blade until the end. This never has worked well and it will cause a streak by the water that is left on the blade. Every time you go to get that (which is twice in the same spot essentially) you cause another streak.  By wiping the blade after each stroke you avoid this problemand get the window cleaned much faster without retracing steps.

Overlap the streaks

At the end of each stroke, the next stroke should be overlapped of the last stroke (about an inch into the dry area) then make your next stroke. If you are pointing the squeegee to make the water fall downward to the part of the window that is wet and you are drying the blade after every stroke, you won’t make
an additional window streak that will need to be done over. Never try to squeegee right on the line, this could cause splash up into the dry area and is counter productive.

Use plenty of water

If you don’t use plenty of water, you will cause yourself a hard time by making the strokes more dificult rather than smooth strokes with the squeegee. be generous with your water use and always if you can, use sideway strokes on the water that is dripping down towards the wet part of the glass.

So that’s it.  Some easy to apply San Diego window cleaning tips for all you do it your selfers.Follow the steps outlined here and you will be very pleased with how your windows look.

Streak Free Window Cleaning Tips

Posted by: admin  :  Category: fine art schools

Well the spring time is upon us, well okay, I must confess living in San Diego the weather seems like it is always spring.  What can I say?

Being a San Diego window cleaning company sure has its perks.  But perfect weather does not equal spotless and clear windows.

As a matter of fact, the perfect weather lulls us San Diegans into thinking our windows don’t ever get dirty.  I mean how can they?  Not so.

Let me clear one thing up, though, this article is not solely for Southern Californians.  You can use these window cleaning tips no matter where you find your self on God’s green earth.

Are you ready?  Let’s get started.

Can you guess what the main problem is when trying to clean windows?  Those ugly streaks.  We wake up one day feeling great, believing we can take on the world.  So what do we want to take on?  We want to take on our windows.

But, hold on there partner, before you tackle the windows, and I am not saying you can’t.  Make sure you know exactly what you need to do.  And it isn’t that hard.

Ready for the tips?  Here goes in quick fashion.

Now right off the bat, the first thing you will want and need is the right tools for the job.  This isn’t going to be a quick spray and wipedown of your family room glass table.  No, this will be glass that has months of dirt piled on, from the weather all the way to insects and birds making it dirty.

What exactly then will be the right tools for the job?  As I mentioned before windex and paper towels will not do the trick.  What you will need though, won’t be that intricate.  All you’ll need is a squeegee and a spray bottle, and then you can break out the paper towels.

Put all these tools together, use them correctly and you day of cleaning windows will be a breeze.

So what now?  You are going to need the right ingredient for that spray bottle.  And what is this top secret ingredient?  Well it is 2 parts.  It is 2 gallons of water, and here comes the secret sauce, a teaspoon of dish washing liquid.  That’s it?  That’s all you’ll need.  You get that straight, and beautiful streak free windows are yours.

One final thing I forgot to mention, and don’t hate me for this.  You are going to have to add a lot of elbow grease.

Remember when you were ready to take on the world and windows seemed like no big deal?  Well after the third window or so, you might find the elbow grease running on empty.

Well when you do, don’t forget where you got the advice.  Your wonderful local San Diego window washing company, who won’t mind adding some elbow grease.

Till next time, happy cleaning.
