Some years ago when I needed to replace my windows and being the technologically dependant person that I am, I decided to surf the internet to find a replacement window company. I used a search engine to find one online through one of those “find it all sites”.

I sent them and asked for a quotation. I didn’t know then that it was necessary to have them come over for an in-home consultation. It took them roughly four days to respond and asked that I supply some details relating to my home. I should have seen the signs right there but being naïve I sent the details.

A few days later the quotation eventualy came through and I was excited. I thought this internet thing really works. I just had a few problems with the quote, nothing major just standard questions. I checked for their number on the quote and gave them a call.

Here is is when the real problems started. They kept refering me to one person after another until I got fed up. When I eventually talked to someone they told me the quote was a standard one – they would have to come my place for an actual one.

They didn’t show up on the agreed date and when I called them up they were not apologetic at all. They made excuses about how busy they were and what time of the year it was etc.

This was when I realized that I was wasting my time with these guys and I cancelled the deal.

You can purchase the Milgard Tuscany vinyl windows for your residential home. I have discovered them to work great apart from that they do not tilt-in especially the single hung one. The only problem that I have picked up with these is the service provided by the seller. Although I do not have personal encounter with this but I have read in my blog complaints about how the service guys are always late or don’t even turn up.

Another that you can consider is Amerimax. They are quite nice. One thing I love about them is that they are energy efficient and also keep the sound out. You can go for the double hung ones so you can clean them easily.

Also on the list is Pella – this is a great company with great windows but I am not impressed with their Pella ThermaStar. I am of the view that they are low-quality vinyl windows for those people looking for a cheap price.

When looking at vinyl replacement windows – compare various things not just the price. You need to consider at the service, durability, functionality and proximity of the supplier.
