Posted by: admin  :  Category: visual arts school

I want to know if anyone has experience with this school. Particularly the dance and visual arts programs. I have 2 daughters, but I am not sure if this school is the best situation for them. Please help!

The South Carolina Governor's School For the Arts & Humanities (SCGSAH) is a public residential high school in Greenville, South Carolina which opened in 1998 to serve the artistically gifted students of the state by providing pre-professional instruction in five art areas: visual arts, music (vocal and instrumental), drama, dance, and creative writing.

The school attempts to challenge its students academically. Among American public high schools, the SCGSAH has ranked as high as 136 by Newsweek Magazine. It consistently ranks in the top 500 high school nation-wide.

The residential program at SCGSAH accepts juniors and seniors. Exceptions are made for dance, which accepts students from all four years, and music, which accepts exceptional sophomores.

All prospective students applying to the residential or summer programs must be accepted through a formal application process before enrollment.

The dance department is chaired by Stanislav Issaev. Main focus is given to ballet, but modern holds importance as well. A five week summer program is offered by the dance department. It is open to any resident of the U.S.

Thinking of going to SVA (school of visual arts)…?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: visual arts school

but i’m in the middle of the semester at the 2-year college i’m in now. should i just transfer to the spring 2009 admission or wait for the fall 2008 admission? and is the deadline for spring really december 1? or is it february 1? how hard are they on academics for applying or are they more strict on your portfolio? because i’m not the best when it comes to school work lol (mostly drawing and coming up with different ideas for designing during class). but while looking it up and asking people i really think this is my school, i’m planning on going to the school tour in december and i can’t wait.

collegefinder.bebto.com – try this site. It has info about getting into SVA, tips to apply and grades requirements.

How hard is it to get into SVA? (School of Visual Arts in NYC)?

I’m a high school senior and I think I may have finally found the school of my dreams (SVA). It’s crazy. I always planned on going to junior college and transferring out of there to a university, maybe UNT (University of North Texas) but i was never completely in love with it. But now that I’ve heard of this school I don’t know what to do, I live in Texas and that’d be a big decision. So far I just need to know how hard it is to get in…

Hi. In 2005, out of 2,018 applicants, 1,368 were accepted. That’s 68%. Go for it.

If you had included the city and state you would have had a better chance to obtain a picture.
