You’ve got some great ones on your list. Of course, FIT is just for fashion, so isn’t a good choice if you wanted to major in, say, ceramics.

I assume you’re just talking about pure art schools, and not great art schools that are part of broader universities, correct?

The undisputed champion of pure art schools, and the one that’s most famous, is certainly RISD. But others that are very well known and extremely well respected, and which aren’t on your list, are: Maryland Institute College of Art, California Institute of the Arts, Cranbrook Academy, New York State College of Ceramics (SUNY Alfred – for ceramics and glass specifically), Rochester Institute of Technology (for printing, wood, and photography), San Francisco Art Institute (absolutely NOT related to the AI chain of schools, which are to be avoided), and Massachusetts College of Art. Those rank top 25.

Below them, but still ranking top 50, are: University of the Arts, Cleveland Institute of Art, Otis College of Art, and Minneapolis College of Art.

how far is San Fran. from Cupertino?

Cupertino is not very big.. I never heard anything great about it. (I'm from San Jose, just a few miles from there).

San Fransisco is your best bet..
Try Academy of Arts or Art Institute..

Just North of Cupertino.

Edit: It's very close.
It's about 30 minutes (40 miles) drive from Cupertino.

You may also consider San Jose (12 miles from Cupertino) or Santa Cruz (Also close by), or Berkeley.

Great thing about Cupertino is that it's smack in the middle of the bay area.
Lot's of great career opportunities and great selection of schools in the bay area..

There is a TKD school in just about every neighborhood, just like McDonalds. No offense to anyone, but that is just how I feel about belt schools.

As far as I know there isn't a website that rates schools and I don't know what critera they could use.
