Looking for graphic art schools in CA?

I want graphic art as a major but have no idea where to start…
I know how to draw and took Art History already. But i have no experience with photoshop since it's so expensive. I don't know what school to take it in, i don't want to go to an art academy or a private since they are so expensive, any suggestions (colleges/ universities)???

let me say, art instructor can only teach you the basic, in other words, how to use the software. But because that photoshop is such a powerful tool that they cant teach you everything on it. You must play around and find new ideas. they also cant make you become a better artist, its only you who can do that because it comes from your own hand and mind. As for photoshop is not complicated, there are so many free tutorial online. You can even buy the book outside and self taught from learning the basic and used that as a pencil tool to create your own masterpiece and practice, practice. Instructor take it from the book as well same thing.
But take it if you need to or its requirement. Although I find becoming an animation using maya or 3ds max in more complicated which needs to be taken.
As for college, I'm up on nor cal attend to San Jose Sate Uni, its becoming a very popular school for business and arts. Whats great about it is instead of recieving B.S or B.A like many college has, SJSU have BFA. I'm hear getting a bfa in graphic desingn and illunstrator. Great school.
SFSU, UCSD and UCLA is also great for arts.

What are some good art schools in Italy that have classes in English?

Is the Art Instructional Schools Art School test worth doing?

Hi. I have seen the Art Test advertised on TV-I sent away for it and I wanted to know is it worth doing? Is it worth completing and sending it back to them? Will they really help you become a better artist, or is it a scam? If it's legitimate, is the help they offer free? Please let me know.

I have never heard of anyone being turned down for "failing" that test. You will be accepted as a student as long as you can pay for the lessons and materials. And, no, it is NOT free.

I CAN suggest that you can get better personalized help by signing up for art classes at a local community college or adult education program.

Does anyone know any legit martial art schools or ninja schools in Japan?

Im looking for a sort of martial art acdemy or ninja school where you can live there in the school and train sort of like a private acdemy or martial art monk temple.

Why is Japan? They're all over the world. The only legitimate Ninjutsu is taught in the Bujinkan. Just find a Bujinkan dojo and train there. They probably won't let you live there though. lol.

Fundraising for aout schools art department?

A friend and I are wanting to raise money for our schools art department because it is in such a bad state and the school cant afford to do it up.

the taps fall off, its always cold and there is a lack of decent materials

so if anyone has any fundraising ideas for us all stuggestions are welcomed

Try looking for an Education Foundation in your city or school district. Many times, concerned parents, citizens and others get together and form such a foundation. Their purpose is to fundraise and then grant the money to schools and departments to improve the conditions and provide materials.

I want to go to a business college or an art one…… im thinking about The Art Institute… and do advertising…

and if there in illinois or close that’d be good to! but they dont have to be

The Art Institute (family of colleges) do offer a fine range of programs. That said, you should be advised to double check if their degrees will be accepted in your area. This is because they are in the for-profit sector, and some employers look down on their educational products.

I know a few people who work at one of the Art Institute schools, and they are fine, highly qualified instructors who are very dedicated to student learning.

My advice would be to look into a state university that has a School of Education and a School of Business. You can earn a BS in Ed, and still be able to take your art classes, and possibly a few business classes as well. Then go for the MS in Ed.

I live in chicagoland and am thinking of doing somthing in the art field, as broad of an area that is, i could also use some help on what of carear having to do with art lol
